Allen Theatre

LOCATION:
Cleveland, Ohio

The Allen Theatre opened its doors on April 1, 1921. The theatre was developed by two Canadian theater impresarios, Jules and Jay Allen of Toronto and designed by architect C. Howard Crane. An ornate lobby led to a pillared Italian Renaissance rotunda. The theater closed on March 5, 1968 and reopened in 1998 after renovations. The Playhouse Square Association signed a long-term lease to preserve the Allen Theatre as part of their downtown theatre complex.

Project was completed in partnership with Evergreen Painting Studios, New York, New York.
